Studio42 raises $3.6M for mobile game development
Cyprus-based mobile game developer Studio42 has raised $3.6 million in seed funding to accelerate the development of its debut title and explore new puzzle game concepts. The funding round was led by Play Ventures, with participation from GEM Capital and Arcadia Gaming Partners. The studio's first game combines classic puzzle mechanics with a modern hyper-casual approach and progressed from concept to live testing in two months.

Apple blocks Fortnite on iOS worldwide
Apple has blocked Epic Games' attempt to reintroduce Fortnite on iOS devices globally, including the U.S. and EU. Despite recent legal rulings favoring Epic, Apple rejected the game's submission to the App Store and removed it from the Epic Games Store in the EU. Epic CEO Tim Sweeney criticised Apple for allowing unofficial Fortnite clones while blocking the original game. The dispute, ongoing since 2020, centers on Apple's 30% commission on in-app purchases and control over app distribution. Currently, Fortnite is only accessible on iOS via cloud gaming platforms like GeForce NOW and XCloud

Warner Bros. announces new DC mobile RPG
Warner Bros. Games has announced "DC Worlds Collide," a new free-to-play squad-based role-playing game for mobile devices. Developed by Warner Bros. Games San Francisco, the game features a storyline where the Crime Syndicate from another universe invades Earth. The game offers various modes, including boss battles, 5v5 PvP arenas, solo missions, and competitive events. Pre-registration is now open on the App Store, Google Play, and the game's official website.
