In the industry, it is an issue we know all too well - sexist ads, deceptive ads, fail ads, the list goes on. In this episode, we speak to the regulators confronting the darker side of mobile game advertising. Jessica Tye, Regulatory Projects Manager at the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), joins us to break down their latest crackdown on sexist mobile game ads.

We explore the landmark decision to ban eight ads depicting harmful stereotypes and non-consensual scenarios, and dig into the use of digital avatars to monitor in-app advertising. With only a handful of violations found among thousands of ads, we also ask whether this signals a wider issue, and what the future holds for the ASA and their rulings.
